The Magickal List of Accomplishments

“Decide what you want and then let the universe open doors for you.”

Now the only challenge is deciding what you want. What do you really want out of life? What is it that you want to accomplish knowing you have limited time in this life? If you’re anything like me you know that there is an endless list of accomplishments you want to fulfill before your time is up in this life. So much can be explored, learned about and understood. So much can be experienced, attained and mastered, but where to start? How do you begin? Good question! There really is no wrong answer here but a good place to start; however is to make a list. A list of things you need and want to accomplish, a sort of bucket list if you will. This should be written down with careful thought and it should be written clearly on good paper, maybe even in a favorite journal, or on your computer, either way its best to make your ideas apparent through the list. Start with 10 goals and accomplishments then add to it as you go. But once your first draft is finished begin taking the steps to accomplish each line of your list. Start with the easier ones of course but never back down until you are able to cross off each line of your list.

(Thoth, Egyptian god of magick and Scribe of the Gods)

Once you begin you will be amazed at how the universe will respond to your intention and directed will. This is the main purpose of your list; a focal point for your will and intent. It’s a kind of spell. If you want you can bless your list with a ritual, energizing the list to set into motion the accomplishments listed before you. Keep the list in a safe place, perhaps in a special spot on your altar. Pull it out at least once every few days and go over each line, it helps to say each line out loud. When you read the lines, visualize each one coming true. “See” the lines on your list manifesting in your life. When you’ve finished and you’re not currently working on anything on your list, pick one line and dedicate some time to accomplish this goal. Make a real effort with each line and the universe will respond accordingly.

Witch School First Degree Exercises

Witch School First Degree Exercises

These exercises are taken from the CorrellianNatavist Tradition’s First Degree course from Witch School.  These exercises are designed to build up your psychic energies and help you learn to control them. Many of these exercises use Chakra points. Chakras are the energy centers of the body, and there are quite a few of them. The first three lessons however you will just be using two chakras; these are located in the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. You can visualize these chakras as balls of white light directly in the center of your palm or sole of your foot. These two chakras are basic chakras that are used for bringing energy into the body and for sending it out of the body. Other chakras are more specialized.  I have chosen these exercises to be a part of the Lion Heart Coursework (L.H.C) to train myself in my First Degree priesthood and to show how one must practice to become proficient in psychic and magickal workings. These are excellent exercises to train your inherent magickal abilities, the more you work out your psychic muscles the stronger they get.  These exercises are meant to be done daily until you have got them down and can do them easily. There are different sets of daily exercises; as we go along through the coursework I will add the sets I am doing daily and also leave the proper instructions for when to switch to the next set of exercises. Remember to record every exercise and your experience in each. You can record this in your Book of Shadows, or a journal dedicated only to the practice of these exercises.

EX.1: Put yourself into a comfortable position. Begin by releasing; close your eyes and imagine all worries and anxieties of your day just pouring out of you like water, down and out through the palms of your hands and the soles of your feet. Now place the palms of your hands together. Imagine a ball of white light between your two palms, radiating out from where they touch. Imagine it very strongly, seeing it clearly.
Now pull your hands slowly apart. Imagine the ball of light stretching out between your hands as you separate them, becoming a beam of light between your palms. Hold this for a few seconds, longer if you can. Then, slowly, bring your hands together, shrinking the beam of light between them until they close together and it is gone. Clear and release all excess energy as outlined in the page entitled “Psychic Hygiene”. Imagine a stream of white light or water flowing through you from the top of your head and carrying all excess energy away through the soles of your feet.
Practice this until you get good at it. Then you are ready for exercise 2.

EX.2: This exercise begins just like EX.1. Mimic it just the same until you get to the point where you have created the beam of energy between your hands.  Then, instead of stopping, visualize that beam growing and expanding to form a ball of white light between your hands. Hold that image as long as you can. Then, slowly, bring your hands back together, seeing the ball shrink between them, growing smaller and smaller until by the time your hands close, the ball is gone.
Clear and release when you’re done. When you get good at this, you’re ready to try exercise 3.

EX.3: This exercise is just like EX.1, except when you open your hands, instead of a beam of white light, visualize a rainbow between your hands. Every color has an effect on energy, so this will work to strengthen you on a number of levels at once.

These three exercises are not meant to replace each other, but done together. As you master one, you will add the next one to your daily regimen. Always release before and after, but not between, the exercises. When you have mastered all three, this is will be your regimen: Release, EX.1, EX.2, EX.3, and release again.

Magickal Clay Pendant

Magickal Clay Pendant

By: Tytus Lionheart

Use image as stencil for clay pendant. As you inscribe symbol in wet clay, chant the magickal intention over and over while visualizing. Feel the power build within you and release it into the clay and symbol as you work. Example chant:

Enchantment for Power Charm

“Within this charm I place power,

that can be called on every hour,

With the key which must be spoken,

And within me power shall awaken,

Thus shall the enchantment, “Beatus Esse”, bring such magick to happen!”

Visualize yourself being able to easily tap into your magickal powers and spiritual energy while wearing this pendant after saying the magick words “Beatus Esse”, which is Latin for “Blessed Be”.

The symbol
The symbol or inscription you use on your pendant can be any that inspire you or give you strength. Examples can be: the pentacle, cross, ankh, yin-yang, Thor’s hammer, a lion, a dragon, mystic star (Star of David), or you could even use a symbol of your own creation that speaks of your personal power.

Other magickal goals

Increasing magickal or spiritual power need not be the only goal for the magickal clay pendant. Other goals include: healing, luck, prosperity, happiness, meditation, sleep, psychic awareness, spirit summoning, invocation, banishment, protection, bindings, love, strength, success...etc. any magickal goal can work with the magickal clay pendant.

The Clay

Real earthen clay, all natural clay is best for this type of practice. Artificial clays will not absorb nor mingle with the energies of the spell properly. My favorite type of clay is distributed by AMACO : Natural Clay. Be sure the box or container with which the clay is packaged reads “non-toxic, lead free” and that it is reusable air dry clay and use a sealer for extra strength. You can easily find this clay at art shops and craft stores, I find mine at Michaels Art’s and Crafts.

Prayer Techniques

I first like to "Star" myself before each prayer, this is to get my thoughts and energy into a magickal mindset or spiritual state of being. It also serves to purify my clattered thoughts at the time of prayer, this practice is similar to the Catholic "crossing" of oneself. Once my magickal mindset is ready, I begin each prayer by calling out to the God or Goddess I am praying to, mostly I pray to the Lord and Lady, the symbolic archetypes for the Universal Divinity or what I call "Great Spirit". People pray for a variety of reasons, it is a great tool to keep a strong bond with Divinity. However, people unknowingly abuse this tool by only using it to ask (or sometimes even demand) favors and requests from the Gods. This is a bad habit and all though it is alright to ask things of the Gods, one shouldn't be using prayer strictly for those purposes, instead use prayer to build a relationship with Divinity. Above all, one should use prayer to thank the Gods for what blessings are in your life now, show Divinity that you appreciate their blessings and give them love for all they have done for you. In fact it is probably best to start out every prayer by first thanking the Gods for blessings bestowed upon you, it doesn't have to be so abstract, simply thank the gods for the beautiful day, or the quiet night. After thanking the gods then proceed to ask a favor or help, be sure to thank and send love for any prayers answered by Divinity, you could also do this with what is known as an "offering". You can make simple offerings by lighting an incense that is particular to whatever deity you prayed to, or by leaving some food or other offerings symbolically connected to your deity. Another good way to honor deity is to give to their ruling areas of life or animals, (example: Adopt a cat and care for it to honor Bast, or donate to a women's center to honor Diana, or donate books to your local library to honor Thoth, these are also great places to leave offerings in honor of each deity).

Another healthy practice of prayer is to use what Scott Cunningham calls, "Effective Prayer" (from "Living Wicca), in which one must utilize both visualization and build/release energy during prayer. Visualization is focusing with your "minds-eye" on the outcome or purpose of your prayer, (example: while praying for protection one could visualize a sphere of impenetrable light surrounding oneself or one's family and friends), essentially this process is identical to using one's imagination. To build/release energy, will all power and charge one's prayer to be sent forth to the Gods. To build energy: as one prays and visualizes the purpose (or intent), one then focuses "Personal Power" building up in one's body. This is done by slowly tensing the muscle's, starting from the core (abdomen) and then tensing all the muscles of the body, you must do this until you begin to tremble from the build up of energy. Once you have built up enough energy, or you can no longer hold the energy you have built up, you are ready to release this energy into the universe. To release energy: you simply release the built up tension within your muscles and focus this power towards the universe, I usually see this energy as purple flames or mist leaving my body and spiraling up into the sky.

These are of course only suggestions, you must follow what feels right to you, but I would like to say that enriching one's prayer with one or all of these techniques will create a wondrous and powerful bond with deity. These techniques are what creates a "prayerful attitude" as explained by Cunningham, "A prayerful attitude consists of peace and hope resting on an unshakable spiritual foundation." (Living Wicca, pg.55)
Experiment and see what works for you, but above all, have fun and enjoy your connection to Divinity.
