7/21/15 Log: Basic Inner Temple Meditation

I have been practicing what I call the Basic Inner Temple Meditation from Christopher Penczak’s “Gay Witchcraft” (pg.60-61). I made a voice recording of the meditation and it really has helped. In the meditation there are stairs to walk down that leads to your inner temple. The stairs that appear to me are grey castle stone stairs that spiral downward like a tower stair way. It’s lit sometimes by candles along the wall, sometimes torches and other times it has a glowing purple hue that brightens the way. The stairs have always led me to a large castle like library with walls and shelves and bookcases filled with books of every type and kind. Where the stairs lead out to the left there is a long wooden dining room table with a huge fruit bowl in the middle over flowing with fruit. Past that there is a large ornate French window that opens out to a white slate stoned balcony that overlooks a breathe taking mountain view. To the right of the stairs there are a couple ornate wooden study desks and until recently there was just an ordinary window, but now it’s a glass and wood door that leads to a stone pathway on the immediate right is a stone pond with a water fall, to the immediate left is a garden and the path leads to an open field. Straight ahead of the stairs are about 3 or 4 rooms filled with book cases that reach the ceiling. In the far back is a brick fireplace with 2 large red leather chairs and a small black wooden side table between them. In the meditation you need to find a reflective service, mine is always a mirror that is to the right of the door that leads to the field. Sometimes the mirror is silver and other times it’s wooden but it is always full body and it’s always to the right of that door. I have recently gotten much better at actually seein myself in the mirror. When I see myself in the mirror I look just like how I look in the physical realm, I am always wearing what I am wearing in the physical or if skyclad the. I am also skyclad. I have successfully changed my skyclad astral self to be robed in fine black material. I’ve also changed my hair and face. A couple times when I looked in the mirror it was not my reflection but the reflection of a twenty something Renaissance girl, with long light brown hair in a renaissance style hair netting, her dress is white with some soft reds and she has green eyes like mine. When she appears she always smirks then instantly it changes to my physical appearance. I get a strong guy feeling that she is me from a past life, or at least that she is a part of my souls history somehow. I feel at peace and a great surge of euphoria when I’m in my Inner Temple.

God Profile: The Horned One

Also called: Cerrnnunos, Herne, Pan

Attributes: Horn crown, mature male, usually depicted naked or in leather armor or religious robes, usually with spear in hand, depicted in or around woods or forest.

-The Horned One is a wild god, god of the hunt, king of all the wild and is also seen as a dark god, one that teaches the darker parts of nature and magick. However do not be fooled The Horned One is tough and strong but He is also gentle and kind, a father figure god. One that teaches through lessons and one that asks us to act through our spirituality rather than contemplate. With spear in hand He is a warrior god, defending not only nature but all Children of Creation to whom call out for His help. Cosmically He is the dark part of the divine masculine seen as the father, the warrior and the sage. The Horned One demands us to sacrifice who we are for who we want to be. He demands evolution through action. His elements are Earth and Fire. He is often seen in Wicca as the consort to the Moon Goddess.

On a whole, dried bay leaf write your need or symbol of your need in black or red ink. As you do concentrate hard on your intent then visualize the leaf being filled with white light ( or any color that corresponds to your need) then light the leaf on fire and place in heat proof container. Scatter the ashes to the wind saying “Blessed Be!” The spell is done.

Log 12/4/13

I have changed the visualization attached to the last line of the Mantra of Oneness. When I say “I am one with the Universe” Instead of visualizing a spiral I instead visualize a ball of brilliant light shining above me, filling me with white cosmic light from head to toe. The ball of brilliant light represents the Source or Goddess. Doing this has enhanced the mantra further and the result is a better connection to Universe (and my higher self as well).
On another subject, since my last encounter with Horse spirit, I have been calling on Horse for endurance during work. When I call on Horse, I see it melding with myself and turning me into the chocolate brown horse I changed into in my last session. The results are an immediate increase in energy, I feel strong and confidant after the calling and work has been easier to handle. I have also melded with Fox to acquire the sharp wit and cunning needed in certain situations. I have found that Fox can help when one needs eloquent speech or critical thinking. I also find that I can meld with Fox when I want to go unnoticed and need camouflage.
My abilities have increased tremendously and I am happy with the way my studies have evolved. Spell craft has been easier and I have more vitality in living. Where just a while ago I was feeling stuck in a funk, I now feel positive and more in control of my life and path.
Blessed be,
Tytus Lionheart

Animal Spirit Meditation:

For the first time ever I used a voice recording of myself and went into a guided meditation to meet a spirit animal. To be honest I was just testing the recording out to see if it was effective, but I got a wonderful journey out of it. To my surprise I was visited by a Horse spirit, I was expecting to meet Fox again but Horse immediately came to my mind and appeared before me. It was a large white steed with light bright spots on its rear end with a blonde mane and tail. I asked if Horse was my totem, it shook its head no. I asked if it was a protector and it shook its head yes. I asked what its message was and a voice came to my mind, a strong cocky voice that said it was to teach me endurance, power and to show me what love is. I then started to change into a horse. My body was covered in dark chocolate brown hair and my mane and tail were black. I then realized that there were fences around the whole area and in fact these fences separated the horse spirit and myself. Where the horse spirit was free to roam in open limitlessness I was stuck in a limited fairly large place with oddly fenced off areas. It was time to end the meditation so i changed myself back into my original form and thanked the Horse spirit. I then exited the astral realm and climbed the astral steps back into my physical body.

Wow, I really didn’t expect to be visited by Horse spirit. Its message wasn’t very clear but the fence thing sure was. Horse was shoeing me that I somehow have limited myself by fencing off parts of myself. Perhaps it wants to teach me the power to bust down the fences or to endure the strain of life, haha. I don’t get the “show you what love is” bit but Im sure Im gonna find out. I will have to question Horse again in the near future.

On another subject its been six days since I started using the Mantra of Oneness and already I am feeling its benefits. I have more energy and it really helps me focus when I need to. I have gone deeper in the visualizations behind the verses. Now when I visualize the elements its like I become apart of their energy. Earth is cold and solid, dense. Air is fluttery, active and moving. Fire is consuming, hot and very active. Water is soothing, cool and receptive. The whole mantra itself has proven to be a great stress reliever, leaving me calm and collected afterwards. When I connect to the Universe, I drift into a mild trance and can feel myself being bathed in cosmic energy.

On top of that I am now doing daily rune readings to get a feel of the energy surrounding me on a daily basis. Also I’ve added the middle pillar exercise to my daily regimen. Things have been productive lately. Im happy and moving forward in my practice. Im Loving every minute of it.

Log 11/23/13

Trying out an experiment with a mantra to be said during the 3 points of the day, waking, midday, and before sleep. I will do this for 28 days. Upon which a channel should then be set up based on the affirmations and visualizations in the mantra. Making it easier for me to access these energies. I call it the Mantra of Oneness, “I am one with the elements.” Then visualize the four elements, earth, air, fire, water. “I am one with myself.” Visualize the 7 major chakras and my aura. “I am one with the universe.” Visualize a spiral that is my symbol for universe. Besides that I am busy trying to put together my own Triangle of Manifestation. It will be a great project to undertake and can only work to enhance my spell craft.
I am still putting together my Ritual B.o.S, I am rewriting some sabbat rituals and what not. Just another day being witchy haha.

Animal Spirit Meditation 11/20/13

After conducting the Qabalistic Cross and Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram, I sat in Tailors Pose and began to still my mind. After getting into a meditative state I called up the stairs that take me to my Inner Sanctum. They appeared as before as torch lit, stone castle steps. I walked down them counting from 12 to 1. When I exited the staircase I was in a large beautiful library on a mountain top, my Inner Sanctum. I willed that the Fox spirit would be there and Fox appeared to me but was covered in black smoke. I could see the Fox’s head and tail but the rest if its body was covered in the smoke. I asked Fox what it meant by camouflage in our last visit. Fox told me it meant for me to step aside from the lime light and let others shine around me. I then asked how I can better detect deception and the Fox showed me in a visualization as it spoke that I can open my heart chakra while speaking with someone and know by the bad vibes if they are lying. My visualization became really unstable and my concentration waned so I thanked Fox and walked back if the stone stairs to my physical body.
It was a short session but it was a good session. Some if my questions were answered and I learned a mystical trick about how to detect deception. I will try again to meet Fox soon. For now I will try to apply what it has taught/ told me.

Log 11/18/13

"The more I know, the less I understand"
I have been so drained lately, But I’m chugging on as good as the next guy. Work is strenuous and even my magickal studies have been taken up a notch. I have yet to visit Fox again, I have so many questions since our last visit in my Inner Sanctum. Fox spirit told me its lesson was camouflage and to know when I am being deceived. Ive tried to be more low-key, I haven’t been out at all, instead I have been at home studying but being observant of my friends and home environment. I don’t know if Im doing what Fox came to teach but Im trying things out till I get to ask Fox to clarify what it means by camouflage. When I last saw Fox I asked how I would know if Im being deceived. Fox answered ” you will know it in your thoughts and in your being”. I have been trying to detect if people around me have been deceiving me. While I don’t believe that anyone is lying about anything terrible (I did notice when they embellished), it does force me to examine how the people around me speak and their mannerisms.
Anyways I have still been putting togeter my Ritual Book of Shadows (b.o.s) and noticed I was missing some key components in my own ritual construction. Cakes and Wine, Drawing Down the Moon and others were missing from my book, so now Im working on getting them down for future use. Thats whats been up so far, just chuggin away at life. Happy though. “The journey is the destination” as the Taoists say.

Log 11/09/13

I am currently working on organizing my book of shadows (b.o.s). To do this I am making a separate book to carry General Rituals, Rites, Prayers and Sabbats/esbats as well as info on Gods and Goddesses and Animal Spirits. I will make another for spells, notes and recording experiences from spells, which will be copied from the composition books I use to keep track of my daily activities and workings. The older b.o.s that I have is to be broken down and used as a reference guide, separating the material as needed for the two newer b.o.s’. This is all easier said than done but the goal is worth the work. To have an organized reference book, a easy to access ritual book and an evolving spell book. This will deepen my experiences on my path and reinforce my faith in my abilities during times of spiritual crises, which I recently went through.
I am working through the foundation I have made and I am strengthening it so I may climb higher up my path. I am reexamining what I have already learned to get a better understanding. So far this process has been a marvelous exploit and I am enjoying the review of this information. I am learning the different levels of each occult subject, growing from beginner to intermediate levels and eventually to the advance stages of each subject. Things like advanced grounding techniques, bettering my abilities at sensing energy, and going to deeper levels in my meditations. All this and more has been keeping me focused, busy and diligent in my Wicca/occult studies.

Spirit Animal Meditation Part 3: message received

After performing the qabalistic cross ritual along with the lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram, i laid in bed and calmed my mind and body with a relaxation exercise. I then visualized a staircase, it appeared to me as a stone staircase like in a castle tower, the stair case was lit by flaming torches. I walked down the stairs counting from 12 to 1 and once i exited the staircase i was in my place of power, which normally appears to me as a gigantic library on a mountain top. In my place of power i willed to meet Fox spirit, who appeared before me. I asked the spirit what message it had for me and the spirit spoke with its mouth like a human and said its message was camouflage and to teach me when i am being deceived. I asked how i will know i am being deceived and it said i will feel it in my being and know it in my thoughts. I asked if Fox was my totem and it shook its head, no. I asked if it was a protector and it shook its head, yes. I asked when i can contact Fox and it told me i can call on it whenever i need its help. The Fox was red, black and white; it was large, standing in height with my torso, its voice was kind, its energy friendly and its demeanor was that of a wise creature. I thanked the Fox and bowed to it, then i turned to the stone staircase and walked up it counting from 1 to 12 as i did and returned to my physical body. I immediately wrote down the whole experience in my magickal journal.
This was an amazing experience, i let my subconscious go and Fox finally appeared to me in a stable visualization and actually answered my questions. Obviously doing the qabalistic cross and LBRP before the meditation helped tremendously, and now I have fox’s message to me. I know now that Fox is a protector and has come to teach me camouflage and how to detect deception. Both very useful skills and abilities. I am very happy with this experience, I learned a lot and can grow from here.

Spirit Animal Meditation Part 2: Fox Research

After meeting Fox spirit in a meditation I have been looking into the lore behind this interesting creature. According to many sources, Fox is a trickster and brings all the cunning qualities to bear as I have found out trying to work with this spirit. Fox has a symbolic link to mental responsiveness, and I am currently being challenged in my meditations by this Fox spirit. Ever since our first encounter my visualization during the meditation has been unstable as if I am being blocked from “seeing” the session with Fox. Yet I knew Fox’s presence was there and it wanted to go on a journey however I could not see clearly and only got glimpses of the Fox spirit. I realized later after talking with a friend and mentor that Fox plays tricks and was perhaps challenging me to sharpen my abilities. Also this Fox in particular has larger ears than a normal fox would have, there is a clue there and obviously my first thought is a need to listen more. Fox energy works a lot with camouflage and observing one’s environment, to step out of the limelight and become silent and unseen. This is a challenge for me, being the loud mouth attention loving Leo that I am, but I have come to understand that stepping out of the limelight also means not getting caught up in my own thoughts and worries. I need to be more aware of what is going on around me, especially with the people who are closest to me. Anyways, Fox seems to have connections with magick, dream work, the night, and guiding the souls of the dead. It is said to be a great teacher and guide, so I am honored that such a fascinating spirit has come my way to lend me some wisdom. I am excited to continue working with this spirit.
 More to come 💖

Spirit Animal Meditation Part 1

After casting a circle I began to meditate, grounding my energy and going deep within myself. I visualized a staircase before me and walked down 12 steps counting down from 12 to 1 as I did. When I exited the staircase I was in my place of power. Waiting for me was a fox, a slinky red and black fox with a cunning smile. I asked the fox what message it had for me. The fox seemed to be tryin to speak to me but I could not understand it. The fox began to take me on a journey but my visualization began to break up as there was too much noise going on in my house from my roommates. I apologized to the fox and promised I would return. I walked to the staircase and began to climb up it counting up from 1 to 12 when I returned to my physical body I grounded my energy.
This is not the first time I have done this meditation, I first met my totem, Lion and another of my guides Cat while doing this meditation. This is the first time I came across Fox, and I believe Fox has an important message for me. I actually dont know very much about foxes nor do I know of their mystical attributes. I will do some studying on Fox and see what I can find, I am also preparing to meet Fox again, this time I will do it at what is commonly known as “dead time”, which is around 3am when the psychic frequency is low (and when my roommates are asleep lol). I will conduct the ritual in a circle again to better focus my mind. After I have made an accurate bond I will no longer use the circle but do a quick shielding before each meditation.
If anyone has any info on working with Fox spirit please feel free to share. Pointers on keeping a stable visualization would be appreciated as well.

Lughnasadh Sabbat Ritual

--Lammas or Lughnasadh (LOO-na-sahd) is the First Harvest. The sun and grain god represented by the Celtic god Lugh is sacrificed so that His life force may sustain the Earth and us, His children.  This is a funeral celebration, thanking Lugh for his sacrifice so that we may live and be prepared for the coming winter. Traditionally Lughnasahd is celebrated through the baking of the bread from the first harvest of grain and the blessing of the first harvested fruits. Also playing competitive sport games, especially those that display strength and skill, are traditionally held at this time including the Olympics, the Panatheniac Games, the Highland Games, and modern football season.

“The traditional five games (Pentathlon) are running  (50 or 100 yard speed race), long jumping (from running start in sand pit, the longest jump wins), wrestling (gripping only  above the waist and whomever can get the others shoulder to touch the ground first wins), boulder heaving (a bowling ball will do in our modern exploits of this sport, the farthest landing wins), and taber tossing (a long pole, like a flag pole is thrown at a hay bale target, the one closest to the target wins.)” ---
‘Grimoire for the Apprentice Wizard’ by Oberon Zell-Ravenheart

For the passing of summer we remember the good times and the bounty of the Earth by eating a special meal. The following ritual is designed to utilize food as an offering and a way of ingesting transformation into our lives.

The Feast for Lugh
(Based on an article by Sandra Kynes at http://www.llewellyn.com/encyclopedia/article/7828 )
Needed:
·      Baked bread, wine, chalice, athame, grapes, offering bowl, have the food for the feast ready but not in the circle
·      Also a list of three wishes to be made during the ritual

Instructions:
·      Cast a 'Circle of Art'
·      Call the Watchtowers
·      “Lord Lugh, Lord of the Harvest, the bounty of your seed ripens in the fields and orchards, Be with us during this rite!”
·      “Lady Gaia, Mother of all, your great swollen belly provides abundance. Nourish us, protect us. Be with us during this rite!”
·      Fill chalice with wine, bless and consecrate the wine by first visualizing it being filled with yellow light and say, “I exorcise you of all impurities that may lie within.” Then visualize the wine being filled with bright blue light and say, “And I do bless you and consecrate you to this working.”
·      Each person take a bit of bread and a sip of wine, saying before hand, “I share the bounty of the Lord. I share the bounty of the Lady.”
·      “Lets us think on what began earlier this year, what has grown and is ready to come to fruition into our lives” Contemplate this, then take 2 grapes each, holding them in your power hand (the hand you write with) and make a wish utilizing visualization and focused will. Eat one and place the other in the offering bowl saying as you do, “So mote it be”
·      Do the same with a bit of bread, after eating one piece, place the other piece in the offering bowl, as you do say, “So mote it be.”
·      Then take a sip of wine while making your wish then pour a bit into the bowl saying, “So mote it be!”
·      “May our wishes and intentions be carried above and below! May the blessings be!”
·      Bid farewell to Lugh and Gaia, then farewell to the Watchtowers. Release the circle then bring out the food!
·      Before eating say this last final prayer: “Thanks be to Lugh, God of the grain, God of the sun. Your sacrifice for our sustenance and life shall be honored! Hail be to Lugh for our fruit and grain, Hail be to the Goddess who shall see to His rites and passage. In both your honor, Lugh and Great Goddess, do we partake in this holy feast. So mote it be!”*
·
Now eat and enjoy each others company! A blessed Lughnasadh to all, may your first harvest be bountiful!

NOTE: Once the feast is over you may burry the offerings and clean the bowl.

Lionheart’s Protection Potion

This potion is best prepared during the waning moon as close to the new moon as possible. Also steel or iron pots are good for creating protection potions (though for any other potion I highly recommend glass or earthenware pots).

Tools:
·      Steel or Iron pot
·      Mortar and Pestle
·      Bowl or mixing vessel
·      Measuring Cup
·      Measuring Spoons (table spoon and teaspoon needed)
·      Cheesecloth
·      Jar or Bottle that can hold at least 1 ½ cup of water with out over flowing

Ingredients:
·      1 ½ cups Water
·       1 tablespoon Sea Salt
·      2 teaspoons Ground Sage
·      2 teaspoons St. John’s Wort
·      1 teaspoon Dragons Blood (ground)
·      1 teaspoon Juniper

Instructions:
In a bowl or vessel start mixing the herbs together, enchanting each ingredient with red protective energy. Do this by holding the herb in your power hand (the hand you write with) and visualize yourself being filled with red light, slowly start tensing your muscles while chanting “Protection, Protection, Protection…”, I find it helps to also visualize a shield while building the energy, then focus the red light into your power hand and release your muscles slowly visualizing the energy transferring into the herb. Once the ingredient is enchanted add it to the bowl or vessel. Do this for each herb. The Dragons Blood can be enchanted while you crush it in your mortar and pestle, as you grind the Dragons Blood chant and visualize red light being pushed into the powder. Once you have enchanted and added each ingredient to the bowl begin mixing with your power hand while focusing on your intent. Now place your hands over the mixture and again enchant it with red protective energy.
Next bring 1 ½ cup of water to boil, add the tablespoon of sea salt and mix well. Once the water is boiling turn heat down slightly and mix in your herb mixture. Let steep while mixing occasionally, here I would like to note that you should still be focusing on your intent. Once the herbs are blended place hands over the mixture (careful not to burn yourself) and enchant one last time with red protective energy. Turn off the heat and let cool. Once the mixture has cooled use the cheesecloth to strain the potion into your jar or bottle. Label the potion and date it.

Using your potion: DO NOT DRINK! This potion is for anointing your wrists and third eye while visualizing a red shield surrounding you, or you can use it to anoint candles for protection spells or even jewelry like necklaces to give them a protective power. The potion should last a long while as long as you keep it in a dark place away from direct sunlight. Record your performance and results in a journal specifically used for magick, dreams and meditations.

Invocation to Lord Hermes for Eloquent Speech and Critical Thinking

Here is another invocation to Lord Hermes, this one is for eloquent speech and critical thinking:

“Lord Hermes, O Great One, grant me the gift of eloquent speech and of critical thinking. Allow my mind to be as swift as you my Lord. O Enchanted One, O Clever God! I do need Your assistance, refine my mind to be keen and sharp. May my thoughts spin gold and my tongue turn silver with ever word I speak. May I stay focused and be on top of all that shall happen this day and everyday. I seek Your guidance in my life, I seek Your Awesome and Terrible power of the mind and I shall revel in these blessings as I revel in Your love. It is to You I pray my Lord Hermes, Thy Will is God, Thy Will Be Done. Beatus Esse!”

Wiccan Inspiration: Magick Motto

A magickal motto is a name or phrase that you instill into your daily meditations and prayers, this is so the motto integrates itself with your essence. Technically any quote or adopted name can be a motto such as "As Above, So Below" an ancient axiom that is a simplified explanation about how the microcosm reflects the macrocosm, or that the universe is reflected in its smaller parts. My name Tytus Lionheart, is a motto, Tytus is an old polish name meaning 'fire', the element I am most attuned to and a reflection of my personal nature, it is also a link to my past as my Grandmother was a practicing witch who escaped from Poland to America when the Nazis invaded. Lionheart is a testament to my adoration of the symbol of the lion; a symbol of strength, courage, loyalty and pride. All of these qualities are integrated into myself when I refer to myself as Tytus Lionheart, I mark my tool and talismans with this name. I represent myself to the online and Wiccan communities as Tytus Lionheart, so then these qualities are representing me. Mostly the motto is an insight, a revelation that you spend your whole life attuning yourself to, such as Aleister Crowley's motto "Love is the Law, Love under Will" from which he spent the rest of his years working this motto into his life and spiritual practice.
A magickal motto has been revealed to me as well, one given to me by my Higher Self and I have begun melding it into my practice, usually I end a prayer or invocation with this motto, “Thy Will is God: Thy Will be Done”- this motto is my combination of the principles in the axioms “as above, so below” and “do what thou wilt”. “Thy Will is God” reminds me that my soul is a part of the Great Spirit and I am a reflection of the Divine Will, there for my Will must be in tune with the Will of the Great Spirit. “Thy Will be done”; 'Will' here is that of True Will, True Will is attuned to the Will of the Great Spirit as should be accomplished through the work of the magician and witch. It also means that one should put to good use the abilities granted when one is attuned to their True Will, through the power of the soul connected to the divine, one should use that power for the benefit of others in need of such power. Examples of this are healing, divination, spirit communication, protection, spiritual guidance, path working, teaching magick, etc. It is also a reminder that learning and studying the occult and magick is not just for personal power but for the power of a community as well. It is important for me that I give back for all I have been blessed with. So then “thy will be done” is the Will of the Great Spirit which is always for the highest good and benefit of all.
